Under the direction of the Historic Preservation & Planning Director, the Senior Historic Preservation Planner ensures that new development and restoration projects honor Telluride’s architectural legacy while meeting local codes and design standards.

The Senior Historic Preservation Planner reviews and guides development applications, advises property owners and architects, and supports the Historic Architectural Review Commission (HARC) through research, technical guidance, and public presentations. The role also involves grant administration, project coordination, and community education on preservation values and best practices.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned historic preservation planning professional with strong expertise in historic preservation of the built environment. They are collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about the intersection of design, history, and community.

This person will thrive in a team-oriented, small-town environment while partnering closely with the Town’s Historic Preservation and Planning Director and other staff, an engaged community, and long-tenured members of the Historic and Architectural Review Commission.
