The City of Carlsbad seeks a Limited Term Parks Planner to join our Parks & Recreation Department on a limited-term basis, with funding approved through FY 2027–2028. This role offers the opportunity to shape parks, trails, and open spaces in one of California’s most scenic coastal communities. 

As a Parks Planner, you will oversee and coordinate multiple capital improvement projects—ranging from pickleball courts to large-scale park developments—managing consultants, preparing designs, cost estimates, and reports, and ensuring projects meet community needs. You’ll engage with residents, commissions, and the City Council, and contribute to maintaining Carlsbad’s high quality of life through exceptional parks and recreation facilities.
