The Engineering Manager provides overall leadership and management of the Engineering Department, overseeing staff, consultants, and complex engineering projects. The Engineering Manager sets departmental goals, policies, procedures, and work standards to support the Agency’s mission.

The Engineering Manager serves as the designated individual in responsible charge of engineering services, as required by the State of California. This role formally reviews and approves plans and specifications for capital improvement projects prior to bidding.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the design, construction, and implementation of major water,wastewater, and related infrastructure projects. This includes coordinating grant-funded projects, managing contracts and agreements, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Engineering Manager Prepares and administers the department’s operating and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and alignment with Agency objectives. They monitor workflows, evaluate work products, and ensure Projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.

The Engineering Manager represents the Agency to external organizations and the Board of Directors, prepares technical and administrative reports, and oversees mapping, right-of-way, and easements. Regular attendance and collaboration. with other departments are essential to supporting Agency-wide success.
