The Muncie Sanitary District is seeking a District Administrator. The District Administrator (Administrator) leads and manages the day-to-day operations of the Sanitary District, ensuring efficient service delivery through effective staffing, performance management, and organizational planning. They also oversee recruitment, professional development, compensation, and personnel programs while fostering a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the laws that affect the operations of the District.
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and motivation skills.
- Experience in construction administration.
- An understanding of the financial operations of a sanitary district, including budgeting and setting user fees.
- Knowledge and experience in EPA rules and regulations.
- The ability to analyze, interpret, and use data in developing policies and recommendations.
- Experience in public speaking, planning fundraisers, and special events.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and knows when to delegate.
- The ability to occasionally work extended hours during the week or weekends, and to occasionally respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
