The Village of Tinley Park is looking for its next Finance Director. The Finance Director is the Chief Financial Officer for the Village. The finance department is responsible for cash receipts and revenue collection; preparing and monitoring the Village’s budget; preparing the tax levy; accounts payable and accounts receivable; accounting, auditing, grant compliance, and payroll.
The next Finance Director will be a career financial professional with extensive local government experience serving as a chief financial officer with extensive knowledge of fiscal administration principles and practices of municipal accounting and treasury management, GAAP accounting, tax increment financing, tax levies and abatements, debt issuance, budget administration, purchasing, ERP systems, and reporting. The candidate must be a team player, collaborative, a creative problem solver with a passion for excellence, and financially savvy. They must have a strong work ethic, exercise excellent judgement to make independent decisions, and have a proven ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels and deliver public presentations are a requirement of this position.
