Mr. Bustamante comes to the County previously serving as the Engineering Manager for San Bernardino County. Mr. Bustamante has six years of experience with the department and brings a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic vision that will make a positive impact within the team and help advance the goals of the Department. He will begin in his role on January 24, 2026.

Mr. Gonzales has over 21 years of service in local government, including extensive work in Planning and Business Licensing, Building & Safety, Engineering, and Code Compliance. He will begin in his role on immediately.
Kate Thomas
County of Washoe has selected Kate Thomas to assume the role of County Manager. Ms. Thomas has served as interim manager since June, stepping in after the retirement of former County Manager. Ms. Thomas began her public service career in 1996 with the City of Thousand Oaks, California, where she oversaw environmental programs and discovered her passion for local government. She and her husband relocated to Nevada in 2004, when she joined the city of Reno as assistant to the city manager. She will begin in her role on immediately.
Lean Vizcocho
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit has selected Lean Vizcocho to assume the role of Senior Buyer. Mr. Vizcocho comes to the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit previously serving as the Associate Contracts and Procurement Analyst for San Diego Association of Governments. Mr. Vizcocho has 8 years of experience with contracts and procurement in government, along with collaboration with stakeholders such as MTS, NCTD, Caltrans, various Cities/Counties as well as with federal government agencies such as the FTA, FHWA, and FRA. He will begin in his role on September 2025.

The Genesee Fire Protection District has appointment Joshua Boyles as their new Fire Chief. Mr. Boyles has been a dedicated member of the District since 2014 and previously served as an Officer Candidate with the Colorado Army National Guard before joining GFPD. He will begin in his new role on 12/10/2024.

California Workforce Association has selected Curtis Notsinneh to assume the role of Executive Director. Mr. Notsinneh comes to the Association previously serving as the Chief, Division of Apprenticeship Standards for the Department of Industrial Relations. Mr. Notsinneh has a diverse background that spans more than 24 years of leadership, public policy, government affairs, political engagement, advocacy, and community engagement experience, including the last six years in the workforce development field. He will begin in his role on November 18, 2024.

Santa Lucia Community Services District has selected Shaw Pick to assume the role of General Manager. Mr. Pick comes to the District previously serving as the Chair for Special Operations for Naval Postgraduate School. Mr. Pick has over 27 years of professional experience, including subject matter expertise in Special Operations, Information Operations, and Emerging Technologies. He will begin in his role on October 7th, 2024.

Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency has selected two candidates to assume the role of Senior Land Management and Monitoring Specialist, Samantha Faul & Ben Teton. Samantha Faul previously serving as the Natural Resource Specialist for San Mateo County Parks. Ben Teton previously serving as the Preserve Manager for the Center for Natural Lands Management Panoche Valley. Samantha Faul & Ben Teton will begin in their roles on 9/24/2024.
