STEP FOUR: IMPLEMENTATION
Many human services agencies have a difficult time recruiting top-quality applicants for the very demanding jobs they are trying to fill. Baby-boomer driven retirements coupled with a shrinking labor supply suggest that the recruitment challenge will only get tougher. This Tool Kit will help you develop a gap-closing recruitment strategy to better attract more applicants and to build a pool of high-quality applicants.

Realistic Job Previews
A Realistic Job Preview (RJP) is a recruiting tool designed to reduce early turnover. (We define early turnover as job departures within the first year after hire.) A RJP communicates to applicants the desirable and undesirable aspects of a job before they accept a job offer. RJPs can come in many formats, including oral presentations, opportunities for applicants to “job shadow,” and pamphlets or brochures.
